process and equipment:

Louis's half
For me and Matthew's animation we had decided to go with Rotoscoping. Firstly to do this we had to decide what video footage we would like to draw over. Me and Matthew decided to do a tribute to a program we both enjoy and change the animation type and features to our liking. We did this by selecting the footage we wanted to Rotoscope from Youtube and importing it into Photoshop. Once the the video was imported into Photoshop we broke the video down into 24 frames per second. Once the clip was broken down we got 150 frames to draw. Me and Matthew divided the workload equally and have done 75 frames each. Once we got the frames we needed to draw, we changed the colours to our liking and had are way with it. Once we completed the frames we shall export it and import it into Premier. Once in Premier we shall speed up the animation and create an opening plus end credits.

Researching Pixar

Pixar's Iconic Lamp and Ball

Pixar-History

Pixar was originally a group of people working in a computer devision for lucasfilms as the graphic division, later on in 1986 Pixar split off from lucasfilms and created its new company which was being funded by appple INC  at the time. Steve jobs then become a majority shareholder of pixar. the three founders of Pixar where Ed Catmull, Alvy Ray Smith and Steve Jobs.
then back in 2006 for 7.4 billion dollars this transaction made Steve Jobs Disney's larges shareholder. through out the years Pixar has won many awards, In 2009 Pixar opened up Pixar Canada in Vancouver which based its efforts to create short films about the other toy story and cars characters, how ever it was then closed in 2013 to focus all efforts back into Pixar. Pixar's ownership,
currently the president of Pixar is Ed Catmull, Ed was one of the originally 3 who had founder pixar.

Structure of Pixar

Pixar-type of products made

in most of Pixar's films the genre's that are focus on  are Family, Comedy. this shows that as a company Pixar's target audience can really be anyone, since quit a lot of people grew up watching their movies when they came out in cinema, and to this day, that audience will still enjoy watching their movies. some of Pixar's most important and significant films are  the toy story series and Up. in the past pixar has been nominated for best animation feature, and has won several awards for this, some of those winners where Finding Nemo, Toy Story 3, Wall-E, and UP, with Up and Toy Story 3 being nominated for best picture. so far is has won 27 academy awards for its content that is has made. in its time most of Pixar's films have been a success except from cars 2, which was a commercial success, it was not a big as pixar's other moves. Toy Story 3 and Finding Nemo are two of Pixar's films in the top 50 Highly engrossing films and all of Pixar's films are in the top 50 engrossing animated films. Pixar has also done some of for sky with promotions with the advertising of sky fibre

over all Toy Story 3 has made the largest Boxoffice out of all of Pixar's films with it having a value of over 1 Billion.

Small look at one of Pixar's new filming Inside out it is set to be released June 19th 2015

Personal favourite films for me that where done by Pixar would have to be Up and Monsters Inc. though i have no memory of seeing Monsters Inc in cinema i remember seeing Up when it first came out and loved it. for me with up its about following your dreams, and that how much you plan your life, things won't go as planned and that you have to make do with sometimes and just keep on trying, until you can succeed and have your dream in reach or to just give up and accept that it is just a dream and to stop chasing it and accept it as a dream and  live your life.

TECH
the animation style Pixar uses is CGI animation, one of the piece of tech they use it renderman it is a piece of software used for distributing rendering or complex and potentially thee-dimentional views.  Pixar uses Renderman Interface specification it was developed by pixar. it can take Three-dimensional scenes and turn them right into digital photo-realistic images,Renderman is an amazing piece of software that has been used by pixar for years and it always delivers great animations. Pixar announced that they are releasing Renderman out to the public

ANIMATION PROJECT IDEA'S/RESEARCH

IDEA
the Idea is that me and Louis will use the rotoscope technique that we learned to rotoscope one of the fight scene's from Naruto.
we will thing of the style of our characters, whether we will make our own characters or we could do a mix or our and and the current one by using some of the features of the characters and using our own ideas.
the second idea is to go out with a camera and fake a fight for us to use in photoshop and rotoscope it into our animation,
only downside to this is that each fight in Naruto can be up to a couple of hours long and as short as a few minuets. the point is to select a possible moment into a short rotoscope animation

ROCK LEE VS GARRA

Naruto vs Pain

Naruto vs Neji

other idea's
anime is full of epic fights which is what helps make it great, so it would be great to expand it from naruto to other series

Shirou vs Archer(legendary hero Shirou)

P2. REPRESENTATION AND ETHICS IN CARTOONS

RIO 2
the problem lies in its characters and voice actors, Rio being Americanised was voiced by a while voice actor while the other birds that live in rio have more ethical voice actors that are move lively than rio and dance and sing more than him. such voice actors for the other birds are Andy Garcia, Rita Moreno, Bruno mars, Jamie foxx, Will I Am  and Tracy Morgan

i think what the writer of this article is saying that Rio 2 has segregation in it since the lead male is voice by a white voice actor and is slightly boring in a way and the rest are non-white voice actors and they are full of life, always sing and dancing and other things

PEPS

"PEPs" Problem Contexts, Entertainment Contexts and Performance Contexts

th3 character tend to be racial stereotypes in the way they are made, a good example is in madagascar, where you got Alex the lion voiced by a white voice actor and he is the king, and they you go Marty the zebra who is voice by a non-white voice actor and he is all whacky and crazy, then you got melman the giraffe who is voice by a white voice actor and is the Jewish stereotype in the way that he is paranoid, jump and is always on edge in a way, the Gloria the hippo who is voice by a non-white voice actor and she is stereotypical black women that can often be found in old cartoons where she is back and sassy in a way. when designers go into make there characters they don't fully think about what that character is saying and tend to be stereotypes of  certain cultures and such

with turbo the lead character Turbo is voice by a white voice actor and the rest are non-white voice actors and in turbo as he succeeds  in things and gets gain the other snails, this is social mobility

indigo deconstruction

i personally feel like that Indigo will fit in with the current marketplace, but can be something new yet at the same time isn't Indigo will mostly be popular with the gaming/comic books/manga/ and other things like that fan base. the theme of it is 3 room mates living their lives but things don't go as well as they should, on narrative on my product compered to existing cartoons/animations indigo will be like eddsworld a bit in some terms,
there are 3 friends living under one roof with each other,
there is that one that stands out and gets the mick taken out of them, for Indigo its Simon, and for eddsworld it tends to be both matt and tom.

i would like Indigo to be shown on vimeo or on youtube/something like that, as it is a web short. it wil fit in well because a lot of teenagers tend to be online at some point for a while as it will be more appealing to those who spent more time online than other and gaming/other types of media because it does contains gaming references and of sorts of references from comic/manga and other things.
